Henley Youth Festival

On Wednesday, Springwood Class took a trip out to Nettlebed Community School to watch the play, A Midsummer Night‘s Dream. The play was held in a hall inside the school and was performed by 4 main actors. A few children from both schools were chosen to come up onto the stage area and help perform the play as well. It was loads of fun.

On Friday, some children went to the Singalong to sing ‘Everyday People’ by the Slide and Family Stone in front of some other schools. They also joined the other schools in singing a song called 'Jewel of the River.'

World Book Day

Although World Book Day is traditionally held on 7 March every year, we celebrated World Book Day on Friday this year due to different classes being on school trips on Thursday. There were so many different costumes and it was a really difficult decision by the school councillors and the head teacher to choose a winner from each year-group. Max Nicoll won best dressed character in Year 6 for his portrayal of Gangsta Granny, while Lucien Morris was the best dressed Year 5 character. He came dressed as Gandalf.

We have a few things to prepare for next week:

  • History: Making a Viking longboat or a Vilking longhouse on Tuesday
  • Art: Making our miniature worlds
  • Maths and English assessments
