Highmoor 19th January

Date: 19th Jan 2024 @ 2:10pm

Welcome to our week in Highmoor.

In maths we have been continuing to work on measurement. Year 3s have been converting between cm, mm and m. Year 4s have been working on length and perimeter. We have also been drawing line graphs in maths isi v our data from science experiments.

In literacy we watched and read different versions of the myth of King Midas and his golden touch. We summarised the myth using a comic strip format and wrote sentences using sub-ordinating and co-ordinating conjunctions. We have also been writing some riddles and read them to Peppard class to guess the answers. Can you solve any of them shown in the photos?

This half term in Computing we are learning about databases. We started by playing top trumps to compare different records, their fields and data. Once we understood what this terminology referred to we played another game to see how quickly we could find data on individual records using different techniques. We realised that using databases was the quickest method.

We researched different root types in Science and gathered data to transfer into graphs in maths.

Homework is reading, Doodle maths, times tables and spellings.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
