Welcome back to school after the half term break and to our week in Highmoor.

 

In literacy we read the poem ‘I Have’ by Joshua Siegel. We have analysed the text fully identifying the rhymes, rhythm and grammatical features. We started to come up with ideas for our own versions which we will write next week. We have also started reading the book Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo, if anyone has a copy they are welcome to bring it in to read during shared reading time. 

 

We are working with fractions in maths and have been using unifix cubes to help our understanding when working with mixed numbers.

 

Our topic in geography is ‘Climate and Weather’ and we looked at the different climate zones on Earth and what types of weather are associated with them.

 

In PE this half term we are learning map reading and orienteering skills on Tuesdays and hockey on Wednesdays. 

 

We hope those of you that are going to the disco tonight have a lovely time. 

 

Home work is Doodle maths, reading, spellings and times tables.
