Springwood - 5th October

Date: 5th Oct 2018 @ 2:11pm

In Springwood this week, we have been continuing our investigation of materials, this week focussing on insulating and conducting materials. The children conducted an experiment to determine which material would be the best lining for a lunchbox. They each had four containers with water and ice, and then chose 4 materials to wrap around the outside of the container. They monitors the temperatures of each cup over 20 minutes and recorded the results. Next week we will need to analyse the result and make a report of our findings.

In Maths, we have looked at multiples and factors, with the Year 5s finding common factors or multiples between different numbers. The Year 6s were challenged to find lowest common multiples and highest common factors for pairs of numbers. Below are some pictures of some of our multiple work.

In French this week, the children were learning the numbers from 1-20. Madam Sauvage taught all the children a fun song and dance to help the children remember, and then they played bingo. THe children have also been practising their dancing skills in PE with Mrs Elson. The children performed their Rock 'n' Roll routine in front of the rest of the class.
